This was the largest event that the school has staged and parents and staff were highly entertained by an eclectic array of music from from Bob Marley and David Bowie to Pachelbel and Bach. The audience were treated to a variety of different music genres including popular music, classical, folk, musical theatre and even American marching bands.

Over twenty different singing and instrumental groups took part in the concert.

William Morris, the school's musical director said that "the boys were quite simply amazing and the overwhelming feedback from parents, governors and staff has been a pleasant surprise that a prep school could aspire to such heights".

My School CD Record at Chawton C of E Primary School, Hampshire

On 5th December 2016, My School CD spent the day in Alton, Hampshire, recording a whole school Christmas CD with Chawton C of E Primary School.

Here's what Jenny, the school's music co-ordinator, had to say about her experience recording a CD with us:
"What a completely great experience our CD recording was! Children loved every part of it, from designing the CD cover, to receiving the finished CDs. The project was a fantastic way of giving children a focus for their music making and really helped to raise the standard of musical performance this term across the board in both singing and instrumental playing.

The process was not at all onerous for teaching staff, with easy to use templates for CD cover designs and letters to parents set out for you.

The day of the recording itself was exciting for pupils and teachers alike and our recording engineer was really encouraging, supportive and patient. He used some fabulous recording techniques to help us sound our best and the CDs were of an excellent quality and something for us all to be proud of! The CDs were produced very quickly so that we could get them out to parents in time for Christmas, which was also very impressive.

I've not stopped playing my CD over the whole of the Christmas holidays and would thoroughly recommend the process to anyone considering it. Thank you so much My School CD, for this wonderful experience!"

My School CD Record at Caister Infant & Nursery School, Great Yarmouth

On 10th November 2016, My School CD spent the day in Great Yarmouth, recording some lovely traditional Christmas carols for Caister Infant & Nursery School. The recording was a great success and the finished CDs looked great!

Here is some feedback from Karen Hollowell, the school's music co-ordinator:
"The whole school (children aged 2-7) were able to take part in the recording and everyone had a very exciting day. The engineer arrived on time and set up very quickly…the teachers were able to listen to the recordings and re-record any songs they felt could be improved. We opted for the Zero Risk option and were able to order a second batch of CDs at short notice. These arrived very quickly, enabling us to distribute them to parents in time for Christmas. Any queries were answered quickly by the My School CD team."

"The African percussion set arrived well packaged, with authentic, child-friendly sized instruments. The instruments can be used in music lessons throughout the school, and because of the variety of instruments, children will be able to explore the different ways of playing percussion."

My School CD Record at Sandcross Primary School, Surrey

On 15th June 2016 we spent the day recording a whole school CD with Sandcross Primary School.

Here is some feedback from Jo Thompson, the school's music co-ordinator:
"This is the second CD that children at Sandcross Primary School have made with My School CD. Music plays a special part in the life of the school; everyone sings and hundreds of children sing in the choirs and play instrumentally in the orchestra and recorder groups. The previous CD we made with My School CD was played outside Morrison's Supermarket in Reigate by Father Christmas for several weeks. This year's CD was made at the request of the Headteacher, Mrs Constable, who will be retiring at the end of the summer term in 2016. Making a recording with professional engineers and equipment is very exciting for the children and provides a memorable record for everyone. My music staff were particularly impressed by how smoothly it all went. The sound recording engineer was excellent!"

Jo Thompson, Sandcross Primary School, Surrey.

My School CD Record at St Ursula's Catholic Junior School, Romford.

On 14th March 2016 we spent the day recording St Ursula's Catholic Junior School CD.

All the children sung their hearts out, and they performed an eclectic mix of modern and classic pop songs, and well as hymns.

Teachers Lianne Claydon and Cornelius Orasanu even wrote the CD's title track 'Year of Mercy' which sounds fantastic.

You can read some of the press coverage the project gained below:
"As a school we have thoroughly enjoyed working with My School CD.  Ann-Marie has been very supportive and has guided us / provided us with material to work through the recording process.

We are pleased that we provided all of the children with a chance to make a one-off 'Year of Mercy' CD , as it meant that they could show off their talent, faith and beautiful singing.  The children had taken on board all of the information and advice given to them during rehearsals and they sang with passion.  It made our school incredibly proud of all of their efforts.

The day of the recording went really well - we finished with 5-10 mins to spare! The children were delighted when they received a certificate to say that they had recorded a CD. Mark, the engineer, was friendly and approachable and he gave us tips during the recording.

All-in-all, it was a great experience and one that we would definitely recommend."
